Pigmented lesions are brown spots of concentrated melanin in the skin that appear all over the body, most commonly on the hands, neck, and face. While many pigmented lesions are benign, some are malignant. Before starting pigmented lesion removal treatment, you must consult with a physician or dermatologist first.
During treatment, our laser penetrates through the epidermis layer of skin and is absorbed by the darker melanin found in the pigmented lesion. The pigment particles selectively absorb the laser light energy and break into smaller fragments that are then flushed out naturally by your body’s lymphatic system. The shattered cells are then replaced by new skin cells generated by the surrounding unharmed skin tissue.
Following treatment, the treated pigmented lesion will form a scab. Allow the scab to naturally flake off and heal on its own. DO NOT pick the scab as doing so may cause infection and unwanted side effects. Once the scab flakes off and heals, your skin will reveal a blemish-free appearance. Most clients at My Secret Spa require as little as 1 to 3 treatments.
